Louise White’s Interview With FSFN’s Kasper Beaumont

Having had a variety of jobs, including waitress, library assistant, nurse, and police officer, Louise holds a BSc in Health Studies, and a PG certificate in Primary Education.

The scenic west coast of Scotland is where Louise lives with her family. Louise didn’t set out to write Fantasy, but when she began to write The Calling, it became apparent that she still believed in the Bogey Man, the Monster in the cupboard and of course, the Faeries at the bottom of her garden. Suddenly Louise found that she was writing a story of perhaps less than willing, but more than able Heroes who could be found both on our doorsteps and in the realms that lie beyond.

Interview summary:

Louise comes across as having a humorous personality and being drawn to writing from an early age.

It was not until 3 years ago that she began to write in earnest and this was when she started ‘The Calling’. It seems be her calling too. In her story Carolyn goes through a hole in the kitchen wall into another realm and develops magical powers. She brings a demon back with her, which sounds like a catalyst for action aplenty.

Louise talks about her process of character development and how she likes to explore the dark side of their personality. I like how she includes a painting which has inspired her to write a fairy hybrid character. Sounds exciting!
