Leeland ArtraAbout Leeland: Leeland lives in the Emerald City (Seattle, Washington) with his wonderful wife and seriously idea-inspiring kids. The first hallf of his life was “wasted” (as his mother said once) being an avid science-fiction/fantasy reader. To earn money he works as a software engineer. However, he prefers to play RPGs and spin stories. It took him twenty years of thinking he should publish before he finally got serious in 2012. Writing is a great way to get away with dreaming all day. He hopes to eventually make writing his primary job. For now there is reality, so he works as a software engineer (which he likes referring to as being a code janitor) for Expedia. In short, by day he helps people take fabulous vacations, and at night he helps people take even more fantastic trips of the imagination. Helping people have happier lives appeals to the Dagger in his soul. The symmetry of his work appeals to the Navy-trained computer scientist in him.

Connie Flynn

Connie Flynn's websiteConnie Flynn's BlogConnie Flynn on FacebookConnie Flynn on TwitterConnie Flynn on Goodreads

About Connie Flynn: Connie Flynn has been writing fiction for so long she can barely remember when she didn’t. She started in the fifth grade with a brother/sister mystery where they spent a great deal of time inspecting their black cats for white hair. She can’t tell you why she came with it, but she can say that her new ideas come from everywhere. Her first supernatural fantasy is a werewolf romance and sometimes people asked where she got the idea.

From a submission call for paranormal romances. Since vampires were fairly well owned, she decided to write about werewolves and wrote two books based on the characters from the first. After the idea it became–and this is true for all her books–a matter of putting the story together, scene by scene, then going back and making sure to leave in the good parts and take out the boring parts.

That seemed to work. She has made a half dozen or so national bestseller lists, and won a PRISM award for her sci-fi time-travel. Now, she’s choosing to publish independently and is enjoying the freedom it provides.

She has just released her first steampunk zombie novel, and plans to write more in the series. This is her second time travel novel. When she’s not writing fantasy sci-fi, she’s writing romantic suspense. Her roots are in romance and she puts a love-in-crisis subplot in every book she writes.

Connie lives in Arizona in a townhouse on the edge of a lush green park, where she walks her dog in the shade on hot summer days.

Will Hahn's BlogWill Hahn on FacebookWill Hahn on Goodreads

About William L Hahn: Will Hahn has been in love with heroic tales since age four, when his father read him the Lays of Ancient Rome and the Tales of King Arthur. He taught Ancient-Medieval History for years, but the line between this world and others has always been thin; the far reaches of fantasy, like the distant past, still bring him face to face with people like us, who have choices to make.

Will didn’t always make the right choices when he was young. Any stick or vaguely-sticklike object became a sword in his hands, to the great dismay of his five sisters. Everyone survived, in part by virtue of a rule forbidding him from handling umbrellas, ski poles, curtain rods and more.

Will has written about the Lands of Hope since his college days (which by now are also part of ancient history). With the publication of Judgement’s Tale Part One, Games of Chance, he begins at last to tell the tale of the Land’s most unique hero, The Man in Grey.

Petteri Hannila

Petteri Hannila on FacebookPetteri Hannila on TwitterPetteri Hannila on Goodreads

About Petteri: Petteri is a writer from Central Finland, a software designer by day and a dad/husband/dreamer/martial artist by night.

It all began when he was eight years old. He found out that there were books of Tarzan, his childhood hero. His mother started to read them to him, but censored them – all of you who have read them know why. Annoyed by this, he started to read them on his own. Dreams and legends have followed him from those days, as companions on his voyage through life.

Only few years after that he thought about writing for the first time, but for a long time he pushed it away from his mind for supposedly more important things. Finally he understood that none of his stories would ever see the daylight until he got started, and he did.

From the days of Tarzan, exciting adventures and fantasy stories set in the past and the future have been his interest. Thus, the natural choice for him was to start writing science fiction and fantasy. Some years ago the idea of Fargoer made its way into his consciousness, and it hasn’t loosened its grip of him since.

About Sara: Sara was born and raised in the beautiful seaside town of Genoa, Italy, where she studied for a degree in Modern Language and Journalism, specializing in psychology and sociology.

After spending a few years in Switzerland, she moved permanently to London, a city that she has made her home and which provides the setting for much of her writing.

Sara works as manager of wellness and beauty centres, and as beauty consultant for prestigious brands of cosmetics. She also loves fashion and art, areas closely connected with the world of aesthetics.

Sara has always been a hungry reader and consumer of books of all kinds, and she fell in love with the fantasy genre after a chance reading of the timeless classic ‘The Lord of the Rings’.

Her true passion, however, is still writing. Sara began writing at school, producing essays, term papers on the humanities and newspaper articles. She then continued with more technical writings in the fields of aesthetics and cosmetology, also taking care of the school programme for beautician internships. However, the idea of writing ‘a real novel’ has always been on her mind.

‘Ecliptic Saga’ is her true debut. It’s a Fantasy/Sci-Fi saga for young and adult readers.

About Lauren: I’m author Lauren Lynne. The good side of growing up is that you can write whatever you want. The down side… Now I can’t read it without my glasses! I wanted to stay close to my roots in education so I chose to write for the age group I love to teach. I sat down with my teenage boys and began brainstorming, based on some of our favorite characters from literature, film and television. Since I’m drawn to all things action-adventure, this particular genre was a natural fit. You won’t find me bungee jumping, cliff diving or doing parkour because well… I’m a klutz… so I write it. I created a character who is much braver, tougher, more graceful and athletic than I am.

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, with its vivid and varied panoramas. When I’m not writing, I can be found spending time with my family, working with students, reading, gardening or hiking around Mt. Hood, the Columbia River Gorge or the Oregon Coast with my camera. I am also a graduate of both Oregon State and Portland State universities with degrees in education. Writing is my passion and I want to share my love of it and reading with you.

His influences include: J.K. Rowling, E.B. White, Homer, William Shakespeare, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Chris Claremont, Lara Hama, Margaret Weis, Tracey Hickman, J Michael Strasczynski, Todd McFarlane, Scott Lobdell, Timothy Zahn, Roald Dahl, amongst others..

Travis Simmons

About Travis Simmons: Travis Simmons was kicked out of magic school because he enjoyed mundane habits like canning and cooking instead of using spells. Forced to travel the world selling his sword and (often defunct) sorcery, he stumbled upon a pack of normal dogs that he mistook for magical animals and imagined he could communicate with them. Still, they enjoyed the pizza he would toss their way, and they adopted him as one of their own. When a roving horde of zombies attacked his new family, Travis used all of his abilities to call upon aid from some witch friends who helped him fight the undead horde. But, always the introvert, the witches realized Travis was rather boring, so after the excitement of battle was over, they went back to their magical ponderings elsewhere. But alas, Travis Simmons was bitten by a zombie, and in order to save himself from turning, he became an apprentice to a necromancer who promised to teach him necromancy and cure his impending undead affliction for a hefty sum. Deciding the life of adventure wasn’t for him, and worried that winter was coming, Travis settled down with his dark master and started writing weird tales of fantasy and science fiction. While his master much preferred Travis spend his time learning the esoteric ways of the occult, Travis dreamed of things like aliens, and life on other planets. His master didn’t like when Travis started pondering steampunk, and instead made his life a horror with magical studies. Now he spends his time chasing his dreams, while trying to save himself from the demon virus in his blood.

Katherine Starbird

Katherine Starbird's BlogKatherine Starbird on FacebookKatherine Starbird on TwitterKatherine Starbird on Goodreads

About Katherine Starbird: Katherine Starbird is a fiction writer whose rich prose brings fantastical elements into the familiar world. Her wildly inventive stories are populated by vivid characters such as an orphaned young heir to Odin, a siren in a city marina, and a goddess masquerading as an ordinary human in modern Washington, DC. Her characters’ mythic natures and epic-sized desires create problems to which we can all relate in a very human and endearing way.

Katherine Starbird spent much of her childhood on and around the water. On the flats off Pinellas Point in her hometown of St. Petersburg, she collected shells and hunted sea critters. On vacations and weekends, the family sailed their yawl in Tampa Bay and to far off destinations. Adventuring on the water gave her ample time to dream up fantastical stories. Not surprisingly, many were about young people and the ocean. Kate lives with her husband and children in Longwood, Florida.

About Jonathan Taylor:
One of the things that grabs you when life gets tough, is just how strong the human mind can be! I was sailing through the stresses and strains of modern life, when right out of the blue, my seemingly great life was blown apart by the news of the Big C word! Yes, I had that unimaginable diagnosis, cancer, the one you never hope to hear.

It’s at that point, you wonder what’s next and what to do! Well, in my case, I dug deep, the deepest I’ve ever dug in my short life.

Have you ever thought something has happened for a reason?

This was my thought exactly. Here’s how this book and hopefully many more to come, came about.
I had the idea whilst on a family holiday to Florida, USA, back in 2010, it stayed an idea for a few months after returning. Until my wife, or should I say my rock and mother to my two fantastic and talented children, encouraged me with the words; “You have to write these down, they are fantastic!” Well I kind of took her advice this time and started putting pen to paper. After a few thousand words, the idea sat there waiting for me to carry on, never finding the time to do so. This is where that thing happened for a reason. My former job was very demanding and physical, and with the kind of Cancer I had and where it was, this stopped me from continuing in this line of work.

All that aside I’ve never once lost my positivity. I took the bull by the horns and danced to the rhythm of the drip-stand. Making the most of what life had to throw at me! After

About Louise: I’ve had a variety of jobs, including waitress, library assistant, nurse, and police officer. I hold a BSc in Health Studies, and a PG certificate in Primary Education. The scenic west coast of Scotland is where I live with my family.

My varied life experiences were not strictly by design, but have likely given me fuel enough for the next few decades of of writing. Fortunate enough to come across some of the most amazing real life characters, there’s been good, bad, and downright ugly at times. I can say the same for many of the situations in which I’ve landed. Let’s face it, delivering a baby to an adoring couple is as far away from the reality of bagging criminals as you can get. And yet, I’ve been passionate about all the jobs I’ve done, soaked in the experiences, and blanked out the worst ones for the good of my mental health. But they are all there, happily bubbling, or festering away, to be recalled when I need them.

I didn’t set out to write Fantasy, but when I sat with my laptop to begin The Calling, It became apparent that I still believed in the Bogey Men, the Monster in the cupboard and of course, the Faeries at the bottom of our garden. Suddenly I found that I was writing a story of perhaps less than willing, but more than able ‘Real to me’ Heroes who could be found both on our doorsteps and in the realms that lie beyond.
